We want to provide a service to farmers and smallholders who have an occasional wish to butcher their own animals or for smaller farm shops that do not have a butcher but want to provide meat for their customers. We can also do deer for you.
It seems to us that High Street and Abattoirs are not the right places to butcher such animals. They do it too quickly, don’t have the space and cannot hang carcasses for the right amount of time.
We will dedicate ourselves to doing it the way you want it. We can receive deliveries from two abattoirs, Stiles near Calne and Drury’s at Royal Wootton Bassett. We will call you once we have the carcass and discuss the best way to maximise the value to you. We can hang it for as long as you want and we can dry age your steaks for up to 60 days. We will be honest about it. We can make burgers, sausages, bacon and hams. We will take our time to get it right.
Depending on size our typical cost will be £350 to butcher and pack a cow, £50 for a pig and £40 for a lamb. We will pack and label neatly and use your logo and name and address. We will dispose of waste. Making sausage, burgers, hams and bacon will be £3.50 and kg with discounts available for quantity. You can come and help and can make salamis and dry cure hams if you want.
