We love our woods. There is nothing more exciting than being in a wood – wearing so many different clothes as the day passes.

Pigeons explode above your head and from a dead tree the sound of greater spotted woodpeckers. In the spring the ground is covered in blue bells and ransomes (wild garlic).

We source firewood sustainably from our woods taking no more than the annual production and we have planted 1000s of trees of mixed species and established many metres of hedge.

Our hope is that we can give access to some of our woods in future for leisure – they need to become a productive asset for the farm so they can be preserved for future generations.
